Jane Wray

Jane’s works are robust contemporary realism. She utilises a strong focus on light to direct the viewer and experiments widely across genres to find fascinating, unexpected subjects.

In the last few years Jane has worked exclusively in soft pastel and charcoal. Her pieces are focussed on depicting the dynamism and vigour of the natural environment and often, its intersection with the built environment.

Wendy Sharpe has described her work as, ‘sensitive, skilful work at once soft and dramatic’.

Jane is an award winning pastellist and an exhibiting member of the Royal Art Society. Her work is in numerous private collections. Her works have been awarded national prizes with the Pastel Society of Australia.
