Tales of a Lighthouse

Mixed Media on Canvas




The South Coast Low with it’s stormy sea whipping the lighthouse was the inspiration

For this piece.

The birds flying between the crashing waves to catch their dinner and the whispering sound of the waves telling tales from long ago.

Layers of ink and watercolour with pigment powders, salt, alcohol and acrylic have been scraped, sprinkled dragged and sketched and the application of brush and palette knife to create the vision.


Reaching Skywards

The feeling of being an ant amongst the giant trees is the scale of this piece.

Looking up into these giants is a type of meditation.

Layers of collage, ink and  acrylic to create this artwork.

Framed with a white wooden float frame.

A collection of flowers from my garden was the inspiration for this piece.

Created using a long stick with paintbrush attached and broad loose brushstrokes

Layered on top.Layers of tones of colour to produce an impressionistic semi abstract piece.


Sacred Land

A trip to Hill End NSW and into the Golden Gully where gold was panned was the inspiration for this piece.The scarred countryside holds gold stories of long ago.

A quick expressive response to a plein air session in the gully.

Broad loose brush strokes represent the raw and rugged landscape.

The earthy palette is indicative of the area,
