Josephine Dash

Title of work: Horizon

Medium: Acrylic on Canvas Framed

Size: 106cm x 80cm

Price: $1480

Techniques: I use a combination of Palette Knife & Traditional Brush Stroke Work, to achieve the desirable effects.

Stories: This painting was completed over a period of about 3 weeks. I carefully select and mix my own colours, combining this with a reflective plan for the composition, using multiple paint layering techniques. I like to paint in a semi-abstract style, which becomes an expression of a meditative and dreamlike state of consciousness.

Inspirations: My inspiration for painting seascapes comes from living on the South Coast.

Josephine is a Wollongong based Visual Artist who grew up in Sydney’s inner-city suburbs.

Her art practice incorporates a commentary on her observations of life, society or personal struggles.

Josephine finds her creative practice is an outlet for personal growth, whereby her ideas and thoughts, are expressed in a physical form.

She likes to share her art process and creative practice, as a window into her personal perspective on life.

Working as an interdisciplinary artist, Josephine finds interest in various mediums and their power to evoke emotions and memories within us. She uses painting, textiles, fibre art, ceramics, sculpture and photography to explore these concepts and their aesthetic application.
